With two games to go in the regular season, the Kings are gearing up for playoffs. This week's Strathmore Motor Products King of the Week, Spencer Tower, is pumped for the first round of the playoffs.

This year, the team has been building with a lot of rookies on the bench, Spencer being one of them. He explained that getting the chance to step on the ice with so many of the players he grew up playing with has been one of the highlights.

Zach Suntjens Is Your King Of The Week!

Fourth-year Strathmore Wheatland Kings defensemen Zach Suntjens is your Strathmore Motor Products King of the Week.

Zach who is originally from Drumheller has been playing hockey in Strathmore since he was 12, and getting the opportunity to play a full season for his last season with the Kings has definitely been one among many highlights.

Rookie Gavin Smith Is Your King Of The Week!

This week your Strathmore Motor Products King of the Week is a hometown rookie!

Gavin Smith is in his first year playing with the Strathmore Wheatland Kings and his biggest highlight for the season is a pretty personal one, “It's gotta be the first time I scored a goal with them. We have some big crowds coming in and the place erupts pretty much and it's something that I won't forget playing with the Kings.”

After that first goal, Gavin was sure to hang onto that puck as a reminder of that moment.

Kyle Feick Is Your Strathmore Motor Products King Of The Week!

This week's Strathmore Motor Products King of the week feature has us checking in with the Wheatland Kings defensemen Kyle Feick.

The team had a couple of weeks off over the holidays to relax but like most who love the game Feick took the chance to get in some time on the ice, “We had one practice I went to the ODR (outdoor rink) a couple of times, and I played a beer league game with my dad, which was which was nice to do because I don't get to play with him often.”

Joel Romano Strathmore Motor Products King Of The Week

This week as we wrap up 2021, we want to highlight your Strathmore Motor Products King of the Week, Joel Romano.

Romano is in his first season with the Kings. For him, there has been one highlight that stands out above the rest, “Just getting back on the ice and being a part of the team, playing hockey every week and just playing with the team has been pretty good,”

Getting back into playing the game he loves after so much time off has been a relief for Romano, he said that the chance to get back on the ice,  getting back into a routine is what makes him happy.

Chase Clayton Is The King Of The Week!

Chase Clayton is this Week’s Strathmore Motor Products King of the Week!  

This 20-year-old defensive player stands at 5’10” and weighs 190 pounds. He has been on the team for a couple of years now and is enjoying actually getting to play his favourite game this year.  

It has been a rough couple of weekends for the Kings, but Clayton is looking forward to redemption during this upcoming three-game weekend, wrapping up with the team's final home game of 2021. 

Landen Brassard Is Your Strathmore Motor Products King Of The Week

This week's Strathmore Motor Products King of the Week is goalie Landen Brassard.

At 20 years old this is Landen’s third season with the Wheatland Kings, trying out for the team was an easy decision for Brassard, “I used to go to the games when I was a kid I always went there on weekends. I just thought I'd give it a try and it worked out pretty well.”
