The Portage Terriers bounced back in a Remembrance Day rematch with the Steinbach Pistons winning 2-1 Friday night. The Pistons wore commemorative Remembrance Day jerseys and had a moment of silence before puck drop. 

The Portage Terriers are in search of redemption tonight as they hit the road to Steinbach for a rematch with the Pistons.

Steinbach defeated Portage 6-1 on Sunday at Stride Place, and the Terriers are hoping to snatch that win back. Defenceman Kian Calder says they are going to have to be ready to compete as soon as the puck drops.

A group of former Winnipeg Jets invaded Stride Place tonight for an exhibition contest against the Portage Terriers Alumni. 

The Jets ultimately came out on top 11-5 in a game that saw a few Portagers take the ice alongside some of the players they watched growing up. Former Jets forward Tim Stapleton says it was fun trying to set up the local 'imports' as they called them.

Stride Place is set to host next week's MJHL Top Prospect Showcase and a plethora of Terriers will be in action.

This is an opportunity for the top talent in the MJHL to be put on display in front of scouts from the WHL, NCAA, USports, and even the NHL.

The 120 players will be split up into six different teams, four U20 squads and two U18 teams, as they play in the first edition of this event. Each team will take part in a practice and two games.

The Portage Terriers have received some recognition for their play this past week. The Dogs were placed in the Canadian Junior Hockey League's (CHJL) power rankings and are ranked as the sixth-best Junior A team in the country. 

It was a statement win by the Steinbach Pistons as the two best teams in the MJHL so far this season went head-to-head last night at Stride Place. The Terriers suffered just their third loss of the season as the visiting Steinbach Pistons beat them 6-1.

Steinbach showed why they are among the best in the league when they scored 14 seconds into the game. Travis Hensrud capitalized on a Terrier turnover. Hunter Degelman increased their lead later in the period firing a shot between the legs of a Terrier defenceman past a screened Bailey Monteith. 2-0 Steinbach after one.

The Portage Terriers are gearing up for their toughest test of the season thus far. The Dogs will be taking on the Steinbach Pistons for the first time this season tonight on home ice.

These two teams both only have two losses so far this season, with the Pistons being just two points back of the Terriers for first place in the MJHL. Portage is the stronger offensive team statistically, as they have the most total goals scored, whereas, Steinbach is the top-rated defensive team giving up the least amount of goals by a wide margin (allowed 33 goals through 16 games). 

The Portage Terriers are now 4-0 against the Winnipeg Blues this season after an overtime victory tonight on home ice. The Dogs were victorious 3-2 in a game that saw Portage finish with style.

Less than halfway through the first period, after killing off two penalties, the Terriers looked to create some offence, and Hayden Lacquette did just that. He received the puck at the point and faked a shot before actually taking one that zipped past Blues goalie Brock Moroz clean and put Portage in front 1-0.

The Portage Terriers have opened up a slot for another 20-year-old player after today's trade.

The Dogs acquired the MJHL list rights to 18-year-old forward Karson King from the OCN Blizzard today in exchange for 20-year-old forward Sequoia Swan.

The Portage Terriers are in search of their 15th win of the season tonight as they return to Stride Place.

The Dogs are coming off a 7-4 victory over the Winnipeg Blues in their last outing and will have a rematch with the squad tonight. Defenceman Brandon McCartney says they can't overlook the Blues.
