Province announces infrastructure funding boost: What’s Airdrie’s share?
The province has announced increased infrastructure funding for the 2025-26 fiscal year. This funding will come through the Local Government Fiscal Framework (LGFF), introduced in Budget 2024.
According to the province, Airdrie's capital funding allocation 2024 is $8,022,724, which will increase to $9,323,778 in 2025.

Two new bridges in Nose Creek Park now open to the public
Two more pedestrian bridges (replacing older ones) at Nose Creek Park are now mostly complete and open to the public.
Ryan Couillard, a Project Manager for the City of Airdrie who spoke with DiscoverAirdrie explained the replacement projects opened up to the public at the beginning of the month, but more work is yet to be completed on them.
"We still have some landscaping work that needs to happen off the edge of the pathways on both of the bridges, but they will remain open."
Airdrie royalty attends the 2025 Miss Rodeo Canada competition
Last week was busy for Miss Rodeo Airdrie 2024 Kyla Lightfoot as she took in the 2025 Miss Rodeo Canada competition.
The event was held in Edmonton as the 50th annual Canadian Finals Rodeo was also taking place.
Lightfoot talked about the different components she was able to watch from the sideline during her time at the competition.
Rocky View Schools advocacy plan prioritizes space and support for students
The Rocky View Schools Advocacy Committee provided an update to the Board of Trustees regarding the work being done to share and advance the Board’s advocacy priorities.
This year's focus is on addressing the need for both space and support for students.

Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre was not allowed to speak in the House of Commons Tuesday as his public feud with Foreign Affairs Minister Mélanie Joly spilled into a second day.
House Speaker Greg Fergus delivered the penalty to Poilievre in the morning, a day after he asked the leader of the opposition to withdraw a remark accusing Joly of pandering to supporters of the terrorist organization Hamas.
