Update: Some Airdrie residents without electricity

A previous power outage in the Reunion neighbourhood of Airdrie that impacted nearly 700 customers has been resolved.

The outage was reported at approximately 4:25 on Tuesday afternoon, but no cause was given as to the outage.

Wildfire season isn't over just yet - Calgary Forest Area under advisory

A little over three weeks before the official end of the province's wildfire season on October 31, Alberta Wildfire has issued a fire advisory for the Calgary Forest Area (CFA).

According to the province, the advisory is due to very dry conditions and no anticipated precipitation. The advisory will remain in effect until conditions improve or further escalation is required.

Incident in Airdrie's southeast sends youth to hospital

A youth was transported to the Alberta Children's Hospital on Monday evening after paramedics responded to an incident in the vicinity of Yankee Valley Boulevard and Kings Heights Gate Southeast at approximately 6:30.

According to Alberta Health Services (AHS) Emergency Medical Services (EMS), the youth was transported with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Although AHS EMS could not give details on the incident, there were reports that the incident was a collision involving a pedestrian.

RCMP were not available for comment at the time of publication.

Airdrie councillor extends role with Alberta Municipalities

Airdrie councillor Tina Petrow will stay in her role as Director for Cities of up to 500,000 within Alberta Municipalities for another two years.

Petrow, who just passed her one-year mark as a director, explained what Alberta Municipalities is all about.

"They represent over 300 municipalities in the province, including Airdrie and bring their issues to the forefront with the province."
