Mild weather predicted for Airdrie’s Remembrance Day weekend
With Remembrance Day on Monday, Airdronians will have an extra long weekend to enjoy the weather and remember the veterans who fought for our freedom.
Stephen Berg, Meteorologist with Environment and Climate Change Canada, shared what the forecasted weather currently is.
"Saturday and Sunday will be a bit of a dip in temperature (compared to today) but still above normal."
The daytime high for this time of year is two degrees. The forecasted daytime highs for Saturday and Sunday are four and seven degrees.
Reporter accused of being Russian spy tells MPs they fell for disinformation
A veteran Ottawa Citizen journalist who was accused by a former cabinet minister of being a Russian asset said it is the "height of irony" that a parliamentary committee studying disinformation has fallen for it.
David Pugliese told the House of Commons security committee on Thursday he found it astonishing that none of the MPs challenged the allegations when they were made last month.
Man Van making third appearance this year in Airdrie
The Man Van is returning to Airdrie tomorrow at London Drugs from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. This is the third the the Man Van will be in Airdrie this year.
Canada’s first mobile men’s health clinic, the Man Van, offers free PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen) blood testing used for early detection of prostate cancer. Men between the ages of 40-70 are the targeted group to get tested.
Jeff Davidson, CEO of the Prostate Cancer Center talked about they are returning to Airdrie for a third time.

This week's Airdrie Techmation Thunder Spotlight belongs to AJ Stebbins.
The Thunder only had one game last week which was on Friday when they took on the Wheatland Kings. Unfortunately, the Thunder dropped the game losing 5-2, On the season, Airdrie now has a record of six wins and six losses.
Head Coach and General Manager Mark Kulynych wrote that Stebbins had a great game Friday.
UPDATE: Four vehicle collision slowing down QEII traffic
A multi-vehicle collision was slowing down southbound QEII traffic, but has since been cleared.
Four vehicles were involved in the collision blocking the left-hand lane and shoulder right before the Balzac Overpass.
Crews are no longer on the scene.

Housing minister announces applications open for $1B critical infrastructure program
Applications opened Thursday for a $1-billion federal program to help municipalities and Indigenous communities build critical infrastructure.
The government set aside $1 billion through the Canada Housing Infrastructure Fund in direct funding to communities to build or improve infrastructure to support drinking water, wastewater, stormwater and solid waste.
Applications are available online for municipalities and Indigenous communities. Those applicants will need to demonstrate how their proposals will support the building of more homes.
'Organized-crime-related' shooting leads Calgary police to suspicious vehicle fire southwest of Airdrie
Calgary police are seeking public assistance after a targeted shooting in northwest Calgary, which they believe led to a vehicle fire later discovered near Highway 566, southwest of Airdrie.
The shooting occurred around 9:30 last night in the 200 block of Nolan Hill Drive Northwest. Police were called for reports that two men had been shot.
"The men transported themselves to hospital before police arrival and the suspects fled in a white Mazda SUV," police stated in a news release.
November natural gas rates: What Airdrie residents should expect
Direct Energy Regulated Services (DERS) has announced the regulated natural gas rates for November 2024. For customers in the ATCO Gas South service area, which includes residents south of Red Deer, the rate has increased from $0.627 per GJ in October to $1.955 per GJ. Based on an average consumption of 14 gigajoules (GJ), residents can expect their gas bill to be approximately $177 this month.
