Only a few days remain for Airdronians to have their say on the Airdrie Transit Master Plan.
Billie-Jo Arnott, Team Lader for Airdrie Transit explained residents have until June 30 to fill it out.
"As part of our ongoing efforts to enhance transit services in Airdrie and the surrounding region, we are excited to announce the development of a comprehensive transit master plan."
She went on to explain that this plan will be designed to improve transit service by establishing a strategy for a coordinated public transit system.
New condenser arrives at Didsbury Memorial Complex
The town of Didsbury has provided a crucial update when it comes to having the Didsbury Memorial Complex ready for the hockey season.
Rhonda Hunter, mayor of Didsbury, explained that the new adiabatic condenser arrived on Tuesday.
"We brought in a crane to lift it right up onto the platform. Our contractors were on site to start work on getting it operational, so it was an exciting day."
Chinook’s Edge salutes longtime leader Shawn Russell
Chinook’s Edge School Division celebrates Associate Superintendent Shawn Russell ahead of retirement.
Russell’s career as a teacher began 33 years ago in the Northwest Territories and has included roles in four school divisions.
"He has been a teacher, vice principal, principal, and associate superintendent. Russell arrived in Chinook’s Edge in 2001 and moved into a leadership role in the division office in 2006. He is currently serving as Associate Superintendent of Corporate Services," shared Chinook's Edge
Airdrie Mounties: 14-year-old has been located safe
Airdrie RCMP said a 14-year-old girl who was reported missing earlier this week had been located safe.
She had last been seen around noon on June 24 in northwest Calgary. At the time, police had asked the public for help locating her.
No further details were released.

Medical supply company MHCare Medical is calling on the provincial government to release an audit initiated by Alberta’s former head of health services into certain health contracts.
Calgary police say charges laid after 11-year-old boy hit by transit train
Calgary police say charges have been laid after an 11-year-old boy was hit earlier this year by a light-rail train car.
Officers say the boy was walking in a marked crosswalk at Banff Trail Station in mid-April when the CTrain entered the station.
The pedestrian barriers weren't down, and the train struck the boy, who was treated in hospital for life-threatening injuries.
They also said the driver of the train was arrested.
Police say the 60-year-old train operator has since been charged with dangerous operation causing bodily harm.
Update: Reports of vehicle fire near Carstairs; traffic may be impacted
A vehicle fire temporarily slowed traffic on the QEII southbound near the Carstairs overpass Thursday afternoon.
A truck and trailer caught fire on the right-hand side of the highway, according to one account. Although 511 Alberta did not report the incident, Google traffic showed delays in the area at the time.
The scene has since been cleared.

Two people, including nine-year-old girl, dead after Calgary house fire
Two people, including a nine-year-old girl, are dead following an early morning house fire east of the Calgary airport.
The second victim, a man in his 50s, was found deceased inside the home, while the girl was sent to hospital but did not survive.
Fire spokeswoman Carole Henke says emergency crews called to the Taradale neighbourhood were met by roaring flames bursting from a two-storey home, threatening other nearby structures.
3,500 Alberta kids hurt in falls; AHS issues concussion warning for summer
More than 3,500 children under the age of five were treated in Alberta emergency rooms or urgent care centres in 2022 after falling off beds, chairs or other furniture, according to figures released by Alberta Health Services.
With unstructured summer play now in full swing, the provincial health authority is warning parents to be alert for signs of concussions — and to take steps to prevent falls, particularly among younger children.
‘Safety begins with awareness’: Airdrie RCMP weighs in on youth air gun use
After Calgary police warned about the growing number of youth-related air gun incidents in the city, DiscoverAirdrie asked Airdrie RCMP whether similar concerns exist locally.
According to Airdrie RCMP, officers responded to 12 airsoft gun-related calls in 2024, eight of which involved youth. In 2025 to date, there have been three such calls, one involving a young person.
“The locations were all over the City of Airdrie, not specific to areas,” said A/Cpl. Jessica Hawkins of the Airdrie Community Resource Unit, Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
