Contemporary arrangements of ancient carols. 

This weekend, the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, in partnership with the Jewish Foundation of Manitoba, presents what is sure to be one of the most moving and unforgettable programs of this 75th anniversary season.  

Part concert, part memorial, part educational opportunity, Violins of Hope explores themes of unimaginable tragedy and conquering resilience through music and a pair of very special musical instruments.  

There’s something so special about getting together with good friends.  

And that’s exactly what’s happening this weekend when four choirs come together to celebrate community, shared experiences and a love of music.

The rigours of a demanding profession haven’t stopped the Winnipeg Nurses Choir from uniting once again in concert.  

This Sunday, November 27th at 2:00pm at St. Andrew’s River Heights Church, The Women’s Musical Club of Winnipeg will be featuring the wonderful up-and-coming pianist David Potvin.

With the festive season nearly upon us, Dead of Winter is sure to put the Winnipeg audience in a holiday spirit with the presentation of their beloved, annual concert, Celebrating the Carol.  

On Sunday, November 27th at 3:00pm at The Lutheran Church of the Cross, The Winnipeg Wind Ensemble will be putting on a concert that they are calling “Many Moods.”

Alan Bern is a renowned composer, pianist, accordionist, educator and cultural activist who has been internationally recognized for his preservation and promotion of Jewish music.
