Double choir: past and present choristers perform in ‘Solomon’

Over the past three decades, the University of Manitoba Singers have honed the musicianship and performance skills of countless students, exploring new and traditional choral repertoire in dynamic local, national and international concerts.

Friday, March 25, under the direction of Dr. Elroy Friesen, current University Singers are joined by an alumni choir to perform the exultant and exhilarating choruses — and double choruses! — from Handel’s oratorio Solomon.

The Winnipeg Jazz Orchestra celebrates the new season this weekend with their show titled Up Jumped Spring featuring vocalist Helen White.

WMC scholarship winners in belated virtual recital

They were all set to perform back home in Winnipeg over the winter holidays.

Then, over concerns of the rapidly spreading COVID-19 Omicron variant, the Women’s Musical Club of Winnipeg (WMC) made the decision to cancel the WMC Scholarship winners' in-person recital, opting instead to take the performance online.

Over $11,000 is presented in WMC scholarships to advanced Manitoba musicians pursing performance careers in all disciplines.
