With events always on the go at the Portage Regional Library, local author Rachael Clarke is taking on a first for herself. 

Clarke announced via X, the social media formerly known as Twitter, that she would be leading a writing class for adults, 18 and up.

The Helping Hands Society of Cochrane & Area is hosting a public meeting this week to help the community better understand the purpose and operation of the Free Food Sheds.

Executive Director Laura McDonald says there will not been an agenda, it is a town hall style meeting with the opportunity for an open discussion. 

"We are inviting the public to come and share their opinions, their raves, their rants about the Helping Hands Free Food Sheds."
