Even though it's been fun to watch the Toronto Blue Jays run roughshod over the American League the last couple months, it's no secret by now that I am a tried-and-true Chicago Cubs fan.
The Cubs are in a playoff race of their own, and a fun moment happened the other night in a tight divisional matchup with the rival Milwaukee Brewers.
Former MLB pitcher and Cubs colour commentator Jim Deshaies used statistical analysis to predict a ground ball from Brewers' catcher William Contreras, and play-by-play announcer Boog Sciambi made him put his money where his mouth is — literally — offering up a food bet for a watch party over in Iowa.
"If he hits a ground ball to short to start the (double play) ..., will you buy Mozza sticks?"
One pitch, and two outs later left the broadcast booth speechless to start the next inning as they contemplated what they had just done.
Thankfully Boog offered to pay half, as the patrons at The Corner Taproom in Cascade, Iowa left with more than their share of food.

Adding to the fun, as you can see above the Iowa restaurant is actually in the hometown of Cubs starting pitcher that night Colin Rea, and the establishment offers a watch party for every one of their hometown hero's starts.
Listen below to this week's edition of The Scoop with Coop as I showed Country 104 morning show host Nick Cooper the mozza sticks fun.
