Average family to save $280 per year from Liberal tax cut: PBO
The average Canadian family will save $280 on their taxes next year from the Liberal government's planned income tax cut, the parliamentary budget officer said in an analysis released on Wednesday.
But some seniors and single Canadians are expected to save less, prompting criticism from Conservatives who argue the tax cut doesn't go far enough.
One in four Canadians report being affected by extreme weather in last year: poll
Almost one in four Canadians were directly affected by extreme weather events over the past year, a new poll suggests.
The Leger poll — released as Canada copes with its second-worst wildfire season on record — says 23 per cent of Canadians who responded said they were personally affected by extreme weather events like heat waves, floods, fires and tornadoes over the last 12 months.
Road Closure- 10th Street
A section of 10th Street will be closed for repairs over the next few weeks.
10th Street between 11th and 10th Avenues will be closed until approximately July 18. The closure is needed for a watermain replacement along with a road reconstruction project.
11th Avenue will be closed between July 2-8, with 12th Avenue remaining open during the duration of the project.

Several Hammerheads finish on the podium at home swim meet
209 swimmers from the province were in Humboldt at the Aquatic Centre on the weekend for the annual Humboldt Hammerheads Swim Meet.
It was a strong showing for the Hammerheads as several local swimmers placed on the podium.
Conexus among credit unions to merge following membership vote
Three Saskatchewan Credit Unions have agreed to merge, creating a new chapter of financial opportunity in the province.
The membership votes are in on the Conexus, Cornerstone and Synergy Credit Union merger, showing a solid core of support from each of the three systems.
The resolution was passed with 87.5 percent of Conexus members voting in favour, 86.5 percent in favour from Cornerstone and 88.7 percent from Synergy giving the OK.
Stunning art installation to be revealed at Original Humboldt site
Original Humboldt, just west of the city, will be the focus of a special event celebrating the unveiling of a new art piece that will find permanent residence on the historic site.
“We’re inviting the public to the Original Humboldt site on Monday, June 23 at 2:30 pm where we’ll be having tours of the land to talk about the exciting new things going on,” says Cultural Services Director Jennifer Fitzpatrick.
Pair charged in incident that damaged Melfort RCMP vehicles
Melfort RCMP has charged two individuals following an investigation that determined a truck they were in control of damaged police vehicles in the Melfort RCMP detachment parking lot.
Melfort RCMP received a report on June 16 at approximately 9:30 pm that a truck was striking vehicles at the detachment.
Officers immediately responded. Investigation determined a truck was driving around the area erratically and struck three parked police vehicles and two dumpsters.
$3.4 million to support USask's Integrated Genomics for Sustainable Animal Agriculture and Environmental Stewardship Project
Canada's Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food Heath MacDonald and Saskatchewan Agriculture Minister Daryl Harrison today announced $3.4 million over four years to support the development of two new facilities at the University of Saskatchewan (USask) which includes the Omics Resource Centre at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine (WCVM) and Beef Reprotech facilities at the Livestock and Forage Centre of Excellence (LFCE).
