Successful Sask Amateur Golf Championships wraps up at Humboldt Golf Club
The championship podium had a southern feel at the Saskatchewan Amateur Golf Championships at the Humboldt Golf Club (HGC).
Corey Bailey of Swift Current claimed the 2025 Men’s Mid-Amateur Championship.
Bailey opened with an 8-under 64, followed by a 1-under 71 before shooting a 2-over 74 in the final round to claim the championship.
FPT Agriculture Ministers agree to AgriStability enhancements for 2025
The ongoing fire situation in Manitoba, resulted in the Federal, Provincial and Territorial Agriculture Ministers meeting virtually last week.
They discussed a number of issues, from the weather impacts to international trade, improving interprovincial trade opportunities, and enhancements to AgriStability.
For the 2025 program year only, they agreed to increase the AgriStability compensation rate from 80 per cent to 90 per cent and increased the maximum payment limit from $3 million to $6 million.
Environment Canada investigates Sunday tornado sighting near Allan
The stretch south of the number 16 highway near Allan was the track for another tornado sighting this weekend as some turbulent weather rolled through Saskatchewan. Eyewitnesses and storm trackers caught sight of a funnel cloud that seemed to have touched down near the community southwest of Humboldt.

SHA alerts people of possible measles exposure risk in Regina
People who were in Regina last week at a couple specific sites may face an increased risk of contracting measles, cautions the Saskatchewan Health Authority with a public alert following a confirmed measles case.
Those in attendance at the following locations are advised to monitor for measles symptoms for up to 22 days after exposure.

Futuristic Industries is hosting its annual BBQ on Thursday, July 24 from 11:00 am to 2 pm at the Futuristic Industries complex, 629 2nd Street.
“We will be serving smokies on a bun, alongside a pie and bake sale table,” says Leanne Niebrugge, community coordinator at Futuristic Industries. “We also have a raffle that we will hold during this time.”
