The City of Winnipeg says residents near an unstable apartment complex shouldn't be alarmed if they hear a siren sound at two specific times on Tuesday, June 11.
Goldeyes' Matulovich Named Pitcher of the Week
The Winnipeg Goldeyes announced Monday that right-handed starter Joey Matulovich has been named American Association Pitcher of the Week for the period ending June 9.
Matulovich won both his starts last week, allowing just one earned run in the process. A 7-2 victory over Kane County at Blue Cross Park June 3 was followed up with a spectacular complete game, 14-strikeout performance in an 8-1 triumph over the Milwaukee Milkmen in Franklin, Wisconsin Sunday afternoon.
Goldeyes win series behind Matulovich's gem
The Winnipeg Goldeyes (14-14) defeated the Milwaukee Milkmen 8-1 at Franklin Field Sunday afternoon. With the win, the Goldeyes took their fifth series out of the past six and evened their record at .500 for the first time this season.
Joey Matulovich (W, 4-0) went the distance for Winnipeg and struck out 14 – the most of any pitcher in the American Association this season. The right-hander allowed one run on just six hits. He lowered his earned run average to a stingy 2.03.
Milkmen take game one in Franklin
The Winnipeg Goldeyes (12-14) dropped game one of the three-game series to the Milwaukee Milkmen by a score of 6-2 Friday evening in Franklin, Wisconsin.
Colton Eastman (L, 2-4) got the start for the Goldeyes and took the loss, going 4.2 innings, giving up six hits, five earned runs, walking four, and striking out five.
Goldeyes beat Cougars in dramatic fashion
The Winnipeg Goldeyes (12-13) erased a one-run, ninth inning deficit to defeat the Kane County Cougars 4-3 at Blue Cross Park Wednesday afternoon in front of a season-high crowd of 6,438.
Goldeyes fall to Kane County in pitchers' duel
The Kane County Cougars (15-9) defeated the Winnipeg Goldeyes 1-0 at Blue Cross Park Tuesday evening.
Winnipeg (11-13) starter Landen Bourassa (L, 1-2) took a no-hitter into the seventh inning when he gave up a lead off home run to Kane County left fielder Je’Von Ward.
Bourassa went the distance, surrendering just two hits while striking out eight.
Cougars’ starter Nick Belzer (W, 3-0) worked eight innings during which he allowed just four hits.
Goldeyes' Murphy named Batter of the Week by American Association
Winnipeg Goldeyes slugger Max Murphy has been named American Association Batter of the Week for the period ending June 2, the league announced Monday.
Murphy hit .500 for the week with two doubles, two homers, 11 runs batted in, and eight runs scored. He has raised his batting average by 90 points over the past six games. The 31-year-old is tied for the league lead with 24 RBIs.

Lincoln takes second straight from Goldeyes
The Lincoln Saltdogs (9-12) recorded 17 hits as they defeated the Winnipeg Goldeyes 11-7 at Blue Cross Park Saturday evening.
Lincoln took an early lead when the fourth batter of the ballgame, designated hitter Spencer Henson, hit a three-run home run to left field.
Winnipeg (9-12) trimmed the lead to one with a pair of runs in the second inning. Centre fielder Miles Simington scored on a throwing error before left fielder Roby Enríquez hit a sacrifice fly to left field that brought catcher Rob Emery home to make it a 3-2 game.
