Shiny new Million Dollar Auction kicking off in Estevan
A popular event in the Energy City the last two years is back for a third round starting Friday.
The Million Dollar Auction is your chance to bid on very attractive prizes using auction money you can collect at local businesses.
The team at the radio station will be at five locations with a wheel for you to spin to win auction cash.
The game is simple. Spin once at each location, collect all the fake money you can, and use it to bid on the prizes at the grand finale October 5 at the Estevan Market Mall.

1 person in hospital following early morning shooting
A Winnipeg man is recovering in hospital following a shooting in the early morning hours.
The Winnipeg Police Service says that on September 9, 2023, at approximately 5:40 a.m., General Patrol officers responded to the report of shots fired in the 600 block of Furby Street.
As a result of the incident, police have located damage to a residence, including an injured male who has been transported to hospital. He is in stable condition.
The Major Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation.
Police make arrest in 'multiple suspicious circumstances involving explosive devices'
A Winnipeg man is in custody after police say they believe he discarded and detonated multiple explosive devices at a property in Winnipeg's Westwood community over a two-month period.
The Winnipeg Police Service says in a release that they were called to the property in the 100 block of Wordsworth Way multiple times between June 21 and August 21, 2023.
New single drops from youth band, planetboom
The dynamic, multicultural youth ministry of Planetshakers Church, planetboom, is releasing a brand new single today, called “I Was Made For This - Demo.”
The new studio recording was produced by creative director Josh Ham, who also co-wrote the song with fellow planetboom worship leader Noah Walker, who is the featured vocalist on the track.

The 10-song collection, simply called Gaither Tribute, was released on August 25. Saskatchewan Highway Patrol seizes over $1.1 million in illegal tobacco
Saskatchewan Highway Patrol officers made a critical stop on a Saskatchewan highway that led to the seizure of $1.1 million in illegal tobacco products. A government release indicates approximately 1.9 million unstamped cigarettes were discovered, and the driver of the truck carrying the contraband was taken into custody.
EPS issue $921 speeding ticket
The Estevan Police Service reported early Friday morning that an officer on the night shift caught a driver travelling well above the highway speed.
The car was clocked at 162 kph in a 100 zone, and the driver was given a $921 ticket.

Fire in multi-storey apartment building sends 1 to hospital
A fire at an apartment building in Charlsewood resulted in one person being taken to hospital on Wednesday afternoon.
The City of Winnipeg says in a release that the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to reports of a fire in an eight-storey apartment building on Hendon Avenue just before 5 p.m.
Firefighters initially attacked the fire from the exterior of the building. Once conditions improved, they were able to enter the suite where the fire originated to extinguish remaining hotspots. Damage was mostly contained to that suite.
Air quality statement renewed with smoke lingering in the southeast
Environment Canada re-upped their air quality statement at 5:08 Thursday morning, though they expect this round of smoke to clear in the evening and overnight hours.
The Air Quality Health Index at 4 a.m. clocks in at 8, or high risk. Environment Canada Meteorologist Terri Lang said earlier this week that the general public should avoid being outside when the AQHI is at 7 or higher.
