Cochrane RCMP seize cocaine, firearms in Heritage Hills bust
A Cochrane woman is facing multiple charges after RCMP seized drugs and firearms during a search of a home in the town’s Heritage Hills neighbourhood.
The Cochrane RCMP Crime Reduction Unit launched an investigation into suspected drug trafficking earlier this month. On Sept. 10, officers executed a search warrant at a residence where they found cocaine packaged for distribution, along with two firearms — including a prohibited pink .22-calibre rifle.

Cochrane RCMP recover two victims from Kananaskis Lake
Cochrane RCMP have recovered the bodies of two people who drowned in Upper Kananaskis Lake.
On September 11, with assistance from the Alberta RCMP Underwater Search Team and Kananaskis Mountain Rescue, the victims were located and brought out of the water.
Police say the deceased are a 33-year-old woman from Banff and a 34-year-old man from Canmore.

Cochrane Gens take control in second, down Airdrie Thunder
The Cochrane Generals earned their first preseason win, skating past the Airdrie Thunder 3-1 last night.
After a 1-1 first period, the Gens took control in the second with two quick goals. Brendan Thubron buried the game-winner from Lincoln Pidsadowski and Evan Plewes at 9:45, and Jaxon Bouchard added his second of the preseason two minutes later.
Pidsadowski opened the scoring 4:30 into the game from Max Waugh, while Joel Taniguchi answered for the Thunder.
