Strong Cattle Prices Expected to Remain for Fall Season
Cattle prices have remained strong, and by the looks of things that will continue through the summer and into the fall season.
After a couple of years of drought conditions across the prairies, low market prices, early spring blizzards, and the lack of hay, it's been a great turnaround for cattle producers with healthy cattle prices paving the way.

New logo, slogan & branding for Town of Carberry
The Town of Carberry joined the list of exhibitors at the Home & Leisure Show at the Keystone Centre in Brandon this past weekend.
EDO, Karra Burney, shared Carberry's new logo and branding slogan with the hundreds of people who stopped by their display booth.
"Our new logo represents all the roads that come into town and Carberry is the center of it," explains Burney, "and it's kind of shaped like a 'C' for Carberry. Our new slogan is 'Discover. Grow. Belong' which is kind of self-explanatory."
Peace Garden calls out for youth summer employment
The Internationals Peace Garden has been reaching out to youth on both sides of the border to encourage young people to join their staff for the summer months.
CEO, Tim Chapman, says they've contacted schools, youth groups, and 4H clubs to share the wide variety of summer positions soon opening for students to apply.
"Manitoban [students] get out at the end of June and North Dakotans get out at the end of May and we're wanting to fill about 40 positions, on top of the few of us that work here year-round," explains Chapman.
Wide eyes at the Fair during simulated calving demo
The Western College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan partnered with 4H Manitoba at this year’s Royal Manitoba Winter Fair, to demonstrate how veterinarians assist in calving procedures.
Matthew Pauls is a third-year science student at Brandon University. He assisted in the week-long exhibit and series of demonstrations of how vets assist in calving using a simulated training aid of a mother cow and her calf waiting to be born.
