TONIGHT: Brayden King special acoustic set hits Weyburn

Known as a powerhouse of the Country Rock genre who leaves an electrifying experience in his wake, Weyburn-born musician Brayden King has taken his career to new heights since his Golden Ticket break on American Idol. Over the past year, King has performed at more than 100 shows. He's occupied the iconic Ranchman's stage during the Calgary Stampede, brought out the Green and White at the 2023 Labor Day Classic in Regina, and owned the stage at the Boots and Hearts festival in Barrie, Ontario.

Southeast soccer player will represent Canada in Madrid

Gabriella Friesen gets her kicks out on the soccer field, and soon she'll be joining the U14 National team to compete on the world stage in Madrid, Spain. The 12-year-old defender and goalkeeper has played soccer since she could first don shin guards and has been putting a special focus on the sport over this past year in pursuit of her passion. Having recently advanced into the U14 age group, Gabriella now spends up to 6 days a week on the pitch and continues her solo training in the few free hours that she can find at home. 

Football camp with Regina Riot grows local engagement

With special guests from the Regina Riot football team, the U18 Estevan Viragos hosted a skill development camp on Saturday afternoon which was attended by athletes from Weyburn, Estevan, Regina, and Yorkton. Viragos Head Coach Mark Tribiger was pleased with the turnout of returning players, but was especially glad to see newcomers trying the sport for the first time. 

Update on Missing Stoughton Dog found in Toronto

Tasha Bigras and her best friend Konrad have been overwhelmed by the support of everyone reaching out and donating towards their trip to reunite with their beloved fur-buddy, Bear. The pair have been scrambling to bring Bear home after disappearing from his Stoughton acreage last September and recently turning up in Toronto. An online campaign to raise funds for their trip has brought donations pouring in from sympathetic pet lovers from all over, now amounting to over $3,600.

Coronach RCMP are looking for assistance in identifying an individual suspected of multiple break-and-enter thefts spanning several years. The man is described as being between 30-50 years of age with balding, sandy-brown hair. He is known to wear glasses, hoodies, Mechanix brand gloves, a dark backpack, and a black reusable facemask.

Missing Stoughton dog found in Toronto

It was a regular day in mid-September when Tasha Bigras and her best friend left his acreage just outside of Stoughton, and the pair made the trip to Regina to do some shopping. Bigras was shocked to find that her friend's dog, Bear, was missing from the yard when they returned. The sweet and gentle dog did not have a history of leaving home on his own, so the two friends began their search. A bit of investigating would only turn up a set of tire tracks passing by the acreage, but no other signs of Bear could be found.
