RM of Stuartburn grew, survived and remains optimistic
The biggest highlight of 2022 for the new Reeve for the RM of Stuartburn is first off, the October municipal elections.
Michelle Gawronsky says, “given that honor was a huge highlight for my life. After that, I'm glad that the folks of Stuartburn are able to celebrate events live again. We had the best Canada Day celebrations in Vita and to be able to see people, actually coming into town and enjoying and watching our community come back to life has just been huge for us.”
RM of Piney residents personalize Christmas Hampers
Nearly 50 Christmas hampers filled with food and gifts for families in need will be delivered this week across the RM of Piney.
John Prevost, with the Piney Regional Chamber of Commerce as well as a volunteer for the past 3 years says, there are 47 hampers in total. “21 of those are going to families with several children and 26 of those are going to either individuals or couples.”
Tribute to a larger-than-life Mennonite farm boy from Grunthal
Ernest Braun, a local Mennonite Historian and close friend of Jack Thiessen, shared his thoughts and the legacy that was this larger-than-life man from Grunthal, and attempts to answer the question, "Who was Jack Thiessen?"
Jack Thiessen was born on April 14, 1931 and passed away on October 9, 2022.
Jack Thiessen was a Mennonite farm boy.
New builds in Sunrise Corner way above average
The southeast corner of the province has seen unprecedented growth in the past two years compared to 2020.
