PREVIEW – Warriors ready for rematch with Raiders

LAST GAME…  Prince Albert scored three in the first period and another four in the third and handed the Warriors an 8-2 loss Monday at the Moose Jaw Events Centre.  Landen McFadden and Lynden Lakovic had one goal each for the Warriors, Ethan Semeniuk picked up two assists, and Josh Banini made 32 saves.  The duo of Daxon Rudolph and Justice Christensen led the Raiders as they combined for three goals and nine points.  Moose Jaw was 1-for-2 on the power play and 0-for-1 on the penalty kill.

Moose Jaw, SK – The Prince Albert duo of Daxon Rudolph and Justin Christensen combined for three goals and nine points as the Raiders handed the Warriors an 8-2 loss at the Moose Jaw Events Centre.

Prince Albert’s forecheck attacked the Warriors inside their zone.  23 seconds into the game, they came off the Warriors’ right wall and then set up Justice Christensen in the left circle where he gave the Raiders a 1-0 lead.

RECAP – Weekend ends with loss in Edmonton

Edmonton, AB – The Oil Kings scored three goals in the third period and edged the Warriors 6-3 Saturday at Rogers Place in Edmonton.

Throughout the first period, the Warriors attacked the Oil Kings inside the Edmonton zone.  They came across the blue line with speed and were aggressive on the forecheck.  Despite doing a lot right, the Warriors were not rewarded for their hard work.

RECAP – Wild bite Warriors in only meeting of the season

Moose Jaw, SK – The Warriors wrapped up a four-game in five-day schedule Tuesday with a disappointing 8-2 loss to the Wenatchee Wild.

In the early moments, the Warriors drove through the middle of the Wenatchee zone and created a couple of quality looks, but they were unable to convert.

As the first period continued, the Wild’s speed allowed them to control the pace of the period.  They outshot Moose Jaw 14-6 in the frame and took a 1-0 lead on a goal from Luka Shcherbyna.

Saskatoon, SK – The Saskatoon Blades scored two goals in the third period and handed the Warriors a 3-2 loss Sunday at SaskTel Centre.

In the first half of the opening period, Saskatoon tilted the ice into the Moose Jaw zone. At one point, the Blades outshot the Warriors 6-1, and they took a 1-0 lead when Grayden Siepmann scored a power-play goal just past the eight-minute mark.

Moose Jaw, SK – Red Deer scored three goals in the third period Saturday and handed the Warriors a 3-0 loss at the Moose Jaw Events Centre.

Throughout the opening period, space to be creative was scarce. Although both teams were able to come up the ice with speed, they made plays defensively inside their zones. They combined for eleven shots in the period but no goals.

RECAP – Warriors upset Wheat Kings in a shootout

Moose Jaw, SK – Matthew Hutchison made 42 saves in regulation and overtime and another three in the shootout, leading the Warriors to a 4-3 win over the Brandon Wheat Kings.

Early in the first period, the Warriors were forced to the penalty kill.  Brandon had pressure but no shots on the net.  After serving his penalty, Connor Schmidt burst out of the penalty box and jumped on a loose puck high in the Moose Jaw zone.

RECAP – Warriors end weekend with loss in Red Deer

Red Deer, AB – A two-game Alberta road trip for the Moose Jaw Warriors ended Saturday with a 5-1 loss to the Red Deer Rebels.

Red Deer picked up the game’s first goal eleven minutes into the opening period when a shot from the blue line went off a Rebel between the circles and then bounced to a wide-open Jhett Larson on the left side of the Moose Jaw net.

The Rebels went up by two on a Matthew Gard power-play goal at 16:05, they took a 3-0 lead in the final seconds of the frame when Brett Calhoon converted on a wrap-around.

RECAP – Warriors open road trip with loss in Edmonton

Edmonton, AB – A two-game Alberta road for the Moose Jaw Warriors opened Friday with a 5-1 loss to the Edmonton Oil Kings at Rogers Place.

Edmonton used their speed and special teams to take control of the first period.

Moose Jaw took back-to-back penalties early in the first period, which allowed the Oil Kings to establish their quick style of play and outshoot the Warriors 18-2.
