RECAP – Warriors drop Broncos in regular season finale

Moose Jaw, SK – Krzysztof Macias scored two goals in his final WHL game and Connor Schmidt notched a pair as the Warriors picked up a 5-2 win over the Swift Current Broncos in their regular-season finale Saturday at Temple Gardens Centre.

The squadron stormed out of the gates in the opening moments.  On the shift of the game, Lynden Lakovic, Pavel McKenzie, and Riley Thorpe were able to force a puck scramble in the Bronco crease.  Lakovic was able to knock the puck over the goal line for his 27th goal of the season.

Former Warriors forward Petruic named WHL Grad of the Month for February/March

Saskatoon, Sask.- Talk about making the most of your Chantz-es!

Former Moose Jaw Warriors forward Chantz Petruic has been named WHL Grad of the Month for February/March after a tremendous run in the 2025 Canada West Playoffs and Conference Championship win with the University of Saskatchewan Huskies.

Petruic tied for the Canada West playoff scoring lead with three goals and five assists for eight points in six games.

He excelled in big-time moments to help the Huskies claim their 12 conference title in program history on March 9, 2025.

RECAP – Warriors drop Broncos in regular season finale

Moose Jaw, SK – Krzysztof Macias scored two goals in his final WHL game and Connor Schmidt notched a pair as the Warriors picked up a 5-2 win over the Swift Current Broncos in their regular-season finale Saturday at Temple Gardens Centre.

RECAP – Warriors battle hard but fall in Swift Current

Swift Current, SK – Moose Jaw showed a lot of battle on Friday but could not overcome a four-goal first-period deficit and fell 5-3 to the Broncos in Swift Current.

The Broncos burst out of the gates in the early moments and had the Warriors pinned inside their zone.  Four minutes into the game, Rylan Gould scored on a back-door tap-in to give the home team an early lead.

RECAP – Final week of regular season opens with loss in Prince Albert

Prince Albert, SK – The Moose Jaw Warriors finished their regular season series against the Prince Albert Raiders with a narrow 3-1 loss Tuesday at the Art Hauser Centre.

87 seconds into the game, Raiders’ defenceman Lukas Dragicevic led a rush coming out of the Prince Albert zone.  Dragicevic and Niall Crocker worked a give-and-go across the Moose Jaw line which ended in a goal for the Raiders defenceman to give them an early lead.

RECAP – Warriors fall in extra time to the Wheat Kings

Moose Jaw, SK – Extra time was needed on Saturday in the final game of a weekend series between division rivals.  Moose Jaw was not able to hold on to a one-goal third-period lead and would fall 5-4 in overtime to the Brandon Wheat Kings at Temple Gardens Centre.

Brandon stormed out of the game in the first period.  57 seconds in, Luke Shipley broke up a Moose Jaw clearing attempt and quickly tossed the puck toward the Warriors’ net.  Roger McQueen was on the right side of the net where he knocked in the game’s first goal.

RECAP – Warriors open weekend series with a loss in Brandon

Brandon, MB – A weekend series between long-time rivals opened last night in Brandon, Moose Jaw played well but unfortunately fell short, falling 4-1 to the Wheat Kings.

Brandon came out strong and pressed inside the Moose Jaw zone early. 95 seconds in, Jordin Gavin set up Caleb Hadland between the Warriors’ circle, where he scored to give the Wheat Kings an early lead.

RECAP – Warriors streak snapped by Rebels

Moose Jaw, SK – Red Deer scored five unanswered goals on Tuesday as they handed the Warriors a 6-4 loss at Temple Gardens Centre, snapping Moose Jaw’s three-game winning streak.

Five minutes into the game, Riley Thorpe tracked down a puck rolling through the neutral zone.  The 16-year-old came into the Rebels zone on the left wing, as he drove closer to the net, he cut to the inside and lifted a shot over Peyton Shore, his fifth of the season gave Moose Jaw an early lead.

RECAP – Warriors cut Blades to end the weekend

Moose Jaw, SK – The Warriors scored two goals in each period as they ended their 12-game slide with an impressive 6-2 win over the Saskatoon Blades Saturday at the Moose Jaw Events Centre.

Nine minutes into the game, Aiden Ziprick took a shot from the Saskatoon left point.  His shot was high and going wide, but, 20-year-old import forward Krzysztof Macias was able to redirect the puck past goalie Ethan McCallum to give the Warriors a 1-0 lead.
