RECAP – Warriors end weekend with loss in Red Deer

Red Deer, AB – A two-game Alberta road trip for the Moose Jaw Warriors ended Saturday with a 5-1 loss to the Red Deer Rebels.

Red Deer picked up the game’s first goal eleven minutes into the opening period when a shot from the blue line went off a Rebel between the circles and then bounced to a wide-open Jhett Larson on the left side of the Moose Jaw net.

The Rebels went up by two on a Matthew Gard power-play goal at 16:05, they took a 3-0 lead in the final seconds of the frame when Brett Calhoon converted on a wrap-around.

RECAP – Warriors open road trip with loss in Edmonton

Edmonton, AB – A two-game Alberta road for the Moose Jaw Warriors opened Friday with a 5-1 loss to the Edmonton Oil Kings at Rogers Place.

Edmonton used their speed and special teams to take control of the first period.

Moose Jaw took back-to-back penalties early in the first period, which allowed the Oil Kings to establish their quick style of play and outshoot the Warriors 18-2.

RECAP – Warriors suffer Wednesday loss to Hitmen

Moose Jaw, SK – Two third-period power-play goals for the Calgary Hitmen were the difference as the Moose Jaw Warriors suffered a narrow 6-4 loss Wednesday night at the Events Centre.

Calgary controlled the early moments of the game.  Their forecheck was fast and gave the Warriors problems as they tried to clear the puck out of their zone.

RECAP – Winterhawks hand Warriors Friday loss

Moose Jaw, SK – Second-period missed chances were the difference Friday as the Moose Jaw Warriors fell 5-2 to the Portland Winterhawks at the Events Centre.

Moose Jaw was able to generate a consistent attack in the opening moments.  Three minutes in, Ethan Semeniuk led a rush across the Portland line and then dangled his way to the left goal line.  It was there where he put a backhand shot past goalie Marek Schneider, his 12th of the year gave the Warriors an early lead.

PREVIEW – Warriors open weekend against Winterhawks

LAST GAME…  Lethbridge outshot the Warriors 45-22 last Saturday and handed Moose Jaw a narrow 4-2 loss at the Events Centre.  Ethan Semeniuk and Aiden Ziprick had one goal each, Riley Thorpe and Ethan Hughes had one assist, and Josh Banini made 41 saves.  Moose Jaw was 0-for-4 on the power play and 4-for-4 on the penalty kill.

RECAP – Warriors suffer narrow loss to Hurricanes

Moose Jaw, SK – The Moose Jaw Warriors pushed late but could not find a late game-tying goal and fell 4-2 to the Lethbridge Hurricanes Saturday at the Events Centre.

The Warriors went toe-to-toe against the experienced Hurricanes in the opening period.  Moose Jaw played at a high pace and was able to generate several looks at the Lethbridge net.  Defensively, they were able to press the Hurricanes at their blueline which slowed down the Lethbridge rush.

RECAP – Warriors fall in overtime to open the weekend

Moose Jaw, SK – A weekend homestand for the Moose Jaw Warriors opened Friday with a narrow overtime loss to the Regina Pats.

Close to four minutes into the game the Warriors were on the attack in the Regina zone.  Connor Schmidt controlled the puck at the right circle then made a cross-ice pass to Landen McFadden at the bottom of the left circle where he scored his fourth of the year to give Moose Jaw an early lead.

The Warriors special teams took control of the rest of the period.

RECAP – 2025 WHL Trade Deadline

Moose Jaw, SKThe 2025 WHL Trade Deadline has passed, and the Moose Jaw Warriors made a pair of deals to round out their lineup for the rest of the season.

The team’s first move was to send 20-year-old forward Brayden Schuurman to the Seattle Thunderbirds for the rights to 16-year-old forward Cooper Ernewein, a fourth-round pick in 2025, and a third-round pick in 2028.

RECAP – Road trip ends with loss in Calgary

Calgary, AB – A three-goal second period put the Moose Jaw Warriors into a hole they could not climb as they fell 5-1 to the Calgary Hitmen Wednesday at Scotiabank Saddledome.

The Hitmen got off to a strong start, as their forecheck pressure created plenty of attack time. Calgary outshot the Warriors 20-6 in the opening period and scored the game’s first goal just over a minute into the contest when Oliver Tulk scored.
