Humboldt/Lanigan RCMP investigating of recent break-ins at Lanigan
Humboldt/Lanigan RCMP are seeking information on a pair of break-ins in Lanigan.
The incidents occurred on Downing Street and in the 100 block of Hover Street. Both properties sustained damage, and cash was stolen in each case.
It’s believed the break-ins happened sometime between 10:00 pm on January 7 and 8:00 am on January 8.
Wadena RCMP seeking suspect who broke into curling rink
The Wadena RCMP are asking the public's assistance in identifying a male suspect that broke into the Wadena Curling Rink on Friday, January 10.

Reservation for Sask Parks 2025 summer begins April 7
With the extreme cold temperatures, it may be a good time to think about your summer plans.
Sask Parks has announced their reservation schedule for this year, beginning on April 7 with seasonal campsites.
From April 8 to 15, a staggered launch will take place with the provincial parks in Saskatchewan.

Huge turnout despite cold weather for Lake Lenore Lions Fish Derby
The biting winds didn’t stop the die-hard ice fishers of the region from gathering on Lenore Lake last Saturday, January 18 for the 15th Annual Lake Lenore Lions Fish Derby. The Derby was deemed a success by organizers who reported 371 sport fishers of all ages registering. The Derby has gained a stellar reputation bringing in anglers from the home region but also netting some from as far away as Alberta.
BHP and Carlton Trail College team up to launch the BHP Academy
BHP and Carlton Trail College have announced the launch of BHP Academy with the first group of trainees.
13 trainees are already participating in on-site orientation at the Jansen mine site this week and will begin the classroom portion of BHP Potash Academy at Carlton Trail College in Humboldt on January 20.
President and CEO of Carlton Trail College Amy Yeager says the working relationship between the College and BHP dates back over the last five years.
Blowing snow advisories for much of the province including Humboldt and Watrous
Blowing snow advisories from Environment Canada have been issued for much of the province including the Humboldt and Watrous areas. The advisories extend westward into Alberta as a low-pressure system tracks eastward across the province.
Northwest winds gusting up to 80 km/h will combine with falling snow to cause poor visibility starting this afternoon or this evening. Above-zero temperatures may delay the onset of blowing snow until later this evening or overnight.
Conditions will improve by Friday morning as winds weaken and snow tapers off.
Help the Gallery name the Joe Fafard piglet
Earlier this year the Hamon Fafard family generously donated a piglet sculpture made by the renowned Saskatchewan sculptor Joe Fafard to the Humboldt & District Gallery. The Gallery is thrilled to have a Fafard piece in the permanent collection, and they are commemorating the donation by making sure that this new addition gets the right name.
Numbers from the Humboldt Fire Department and Community Safety Officer annual report
During Monday's Humboldt’s City Council executive meeting, the 2024 numbers were released from the Humboldt Fire Department along with an annual report from Community Safety Officer and a monthly report from the Humboldt RCMP Detachment.
2024 was a busy year once again for the Humboldt Fire Department.
Last year, the Fire Department fielded 112 calls which was up from 105 in 2023.
Frank and Gerry Bourgault to be inducted to Saskatchewan Agricultural Hall of Fame
The Saskatchewan Agricultural Hall of Fame announced their six newest inductees earlier this week.
Two of the inductees are the late Frank Bourgault and his son Gerry.
Frank founded Bourgault Industries in St. Brieux in 1973 and helped established the company as a pioneering force in the agricultural equipment industry.
In 1980 the company introduced the first tow-behind air-seeder which paved the way for sustainable dryland farming practice of zero till.
