'God is somebody who cares about my language': Bible translation changing lives

In northern Brazil, Scripture is beginning to be shared in a language that millions of people speak. Ed Weaver with Spoken Worldwide says these language speakers are often overlooked and humiliated by others in their country. They are marginalized, underserved, and lacking the Word of God.

An oral Bible translation team recently visited a remote village of the people group. They wanted to learn about village life and meet some of the local people.

China’s registered churches elect new leaders

Christians of China’s registered churches have another important event besides Christmas happening this month. It is the national conference held every five years for the China Christian Council and the Three-Self Patriotic Movement.

Kurt Rovenstine of Bibles For China asks believers worldwide to pray for the Chinese Church during this time. He says, “It’s an important time for the church there and we’re just praying that God does what needs to be done.”

People group in Philippines celebrates complete Bible in their language

Over 66 years ago, a Wycliffe missionary began translation of God’s Word in the northern Philippines. This year, the Isnag community celebrated the completed translation in their own language.

Stephanie de Oliveira, Wycliffe USA Director of Church Relations, attended the Bible dedication along with American pastors. After the dedication ceremony, 34 Isnag believers were baptized.
