Thousands rally at the Legislative Building to "Make Noise for Education"
No one could mistake the message or the resolve with which it was delivered.
Three thousand teachers, families and public education supporters gathered in front of the Legislative Building on Saturday, April 29 for an exuberant rally to decry cuts to education. Dubbed “Make Noise for Public Education,” the rally lived up to its billing with spontaneous chants of “enough is enough” and “Scott Moe go” ringing throughout the afternoon’s prepared speeches.

Lanigan natural gas power plant one of the funding focuses for SaskPower
A planned natural gas power generating station near Lanigan is among the capital funding projects that SaskPower is committed to in its annual funding. The electrical utility released its capital spending plan and the Aspen Power Station at Wolverine just off Highway 16 is one of the identified projects.

Humboldt Vintage Club Car Show delights enthusiasts with classic beauties and modern marvels
The second annual Humboldt Vintage Club Car Show had something for everyone. Whether it was the nostalgic feel of a classic roadster or the excitement of the latest in production line speedsters, the show had it all.
The weekend rains skirted the Vintage Club grounds on Highway 20 south of Humboldt long enough for cars and trucks to pull in, and for a sizable crowd to mingle among the showpieces and visit with the exhibitors.

RCMP cautions about fake US currency in the Humboldt/Lanigan area
Humboldt and Lanigan RCMP officers want area residents and businesses to be wary of American currency circulating in the region. The detachments are responding to an increased number of complaints where suspects are using counterfeit U.S. currency for purchases.

From Sask to the stars: Local U of S engineering student helps launch key space study
A U of S engineering student who got his start in Watson is about to experience the space age opportunity of a lifetime. Dylan Haussecker is part of a design team that’s created what they believe is Saskatchewan’s first ground up high orbit satellite. The project is headed skyward to the International Space Station via SpaceX rocket from Cape Canaveral, Florida. The launch is scheduled in June.
