The clock is ticking on the countdown to a New Year, and SGI has its own countdown launched. The insurer is counting down the 10 ways you can make sure you and your loved ones get home safe this New Year’s Eve.

10. Make a plan. ✅ You’ve got options and taking the time to decide before you hit the town can help everyone relax and enjoy the evening.

9. Take the bus. In Regina, Saskatoon, Prince Albert and Moose Jaw, you can ride the bus for free on New Years’s Eve.  Any bus can be a party bus if you have the right attitude.  🚌 🎉

8. Hail a cab. 🚕

7. Order a rideshare. 📱

6. Use a designated driving service. 🤳

5. Designate a sober driver, or volunteer to be one. 🙋‍♀️

4. Call a sober friend or family member.  📞

3. Hosting? Consider making non-alcoholic beverages available. Make sure your guests don’t drive home if they’re impaired. 🥂

2. Feeling fancy? Book a limo or party bus for you and your crew! 💃

1. Stay the night. 💤

Police across Saskatchewan will be conducting checkstops and other forms of impaired driving enforcement on New Year’s Eve. You never know where you may encounter a checkstop, so exercise your options to #FindASafeRide.

- Thanks to Tyler McMurchy and SGI for the countdown content! Have a safe New Year.
