The Humboldt Broncos dominated in their home opener of the new year with a victory over the Yorkton Terriers on Tuesday night.

A snow dust up didn't slow down the Humboldt Broncos on Tuesday night as they took care of the Yorkton Terriers at the EPA by a score of 5 - 1.

Connor Miller opened the scoring halfway in the first with an assist from Ben Constantino.

It wasn't until late in the second when the Broncos struck again, the first off a Cage Newans marker with help from Daylan Wiegel. Then Weigel and Spencer Bell got the assists on a Matthew Van Blaricom power play effort.

The Terriers' Anthony Domina got Yorkton on the scoreboard in the first minute of the third, but less than a minute later, Bell, shorthanded and unassisted, stunned the Terriers with his twenty-first of the season. Cage Newans wrapped up the scoring on a power play at the 6:00 minute mark.

The Broncos went on lockdown to skate away with the victory. Benjamin Motew had another outstanding night in net turning aside 30 of 31.

The Broncos mix it up with the Melfort Mustangs in a home and home this Friday and Saturday. Game time in Melfort on Friday is 7:30 and then it's back to the EPA on Saturday for a 7:00 pm start. Catch all the action right here on 107.5 Bolt FM.
