Sylvan Lake RCMP to hold "Operation Shred-it" Wednesday

Fraud and identity theft are two problems that are becoming more and more an issue in Central Alberta.

The Sylvan Lake RCMP are holding "Operation Shred-It" tomorrow, Wednesday, February 7 in front of the detachment (4260-50th street) from 1:00 to 4:00 pm.

Confidential documents may include:

• Tax returns and supporting documents (that are from 2016 or earlier)
• Bank and credit card statements
• Mortgage/investment statements
• Medical records
• Any document that contains a person’s name, address, age, date of birth, social insurance number, driver’s license/provincial ID number or other personal information

You are asked to drop off your documents in a cardboard box with no plastic bags or loose papers.
