On Feb. 12, the City of Lacombe held a regular council meeting. Here are the highlights from the meeting:

Lacombe City Council explores long-range plan for new regional recreation facility

Lacombe City Council was presented with an option to explore the development of a long-range plan for a new recreation complex.

During the meeting, administration presented council with the option, through a collaborative effort between the Town of Blackfalds, Lacombe County, and the City of Lacombe.

The facility would provide shared recreation infrastructure between urban municipalities and contribute to the long-term financial viability of the surrounding communities.

The long-range plans of all three communities support the exploration of the shared service.

The proposed facility aims to address growing demand and distribute the associated costs among the benefiting communities.

Council referred the tri-party Alberta Community Partnership Grant Application to the Intermunicipal Development Plan and Intermunicipal Collaborative Framework Committee of the City of Lacombe, Town of Blackfalds, and Lacombe County for review and consideration.
