Reminder: Wednesday, May 22 is the deadline for the SOLE-stice meet. For details, enjoy this previously published article.

Spring brings around track and field season, and that means the SOLE-stice Classic Regional Track and Field Meet. This year’s event is set up for May 26 at Glenn Hall Park in Humboldt. Online registration must be completed by May 22.

As in previous years, the idea is to see young athletes take an interest in track and field events to develop interest and expose youth to the prospects of the various events.

Athletes can participate in three difference age categories:

  • Meteors – born 2016/15

  • Comets – born 2014/13

  • Stars – Born 2012/11

Athletes can compete in up to four events at the regional meet, not including relays. The top two competitors in their events will qualify for the SOLE-stice provincial finals. Athlete winners are responsible for entering themselves into the provincial event after qualifying using the online event link.

There’s a slate of events for young athletes, including races up to 800 m and ball throw and long jump.

It’s a great chance for youth to find out more about the world of track in a friend and supportive meet environment. For more information or to register, head to http://solesticeclassic.com/humboldt/
