Another former Terrier has announced their commitment to university hockey.

Ashton Fishley announced this week that he has committed to play at the USPORTS level in Regina with the University of Regina (U of R) Cougars.

"I think it's going to be a really competitive league. It will definitely be a step up, whether it's speed, whether it's making decisions, and even going to school at the same time and trying to juggle school and hockey, it's definitely going to be the next step in my hockey career. I'm really looking forward to it. It's going to be really cool playing against some former teammates."

He explains what he'll be taking while attending U of R.

"I'm going to study secondary physical education. I'm going to become a teacher, and I think that will be a great path for me."

Fishley played parts of three seasons with the Terriers, dressing for 72 games, and scoring 33 points. In his MJHL career, Fishley played in 155 games, scored 16 goals and totalled 72 points. He was also the captain of the Swan Valley Stampeders before being traded back to Portage a week before the trade deadline this past season.
