Aage Jensen passed away on Sunday, May 5th, 2024, in Moose Jaw, SK.  Aage was born on May 15th, 1929, in his childhood home in Vinding, Denmark; immigrated to Alberta in 1957; and came to Moose Jaw in 1958.  He served one year in the Royal Danish Army and received his education and trades training in Denmark.  He belonged to the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Local 1 and was a member of St. Barnabas Anglican Church.  Aage was employed as a bricklayer and stonemason by Moose Jaw and Regina area contractors, having worked on many prominent buildings.  His hobbies included leather tooling, gardening, woodworking, fishing, wine and beer making, computers, and even crafted his own telescopes.  Aage can best be described as extremely patient, levelheaded, a continuous learner, and had the ability to adapt to whatever life threw his way.

He was predeceased by his wife, Muriel in 2021; father, Jens Daniel Jensen in 1960; and his mother, Agnete Marie (née: Pedersen) in 1991.  Aage is survived by his sons, Gavin (Tracey) and Gavins’ daughters Diana and Shanna, and Colin (Barbara) and furry friend Milo; sister, Asta; niece, Ruth; nephew, John; cousin, Kristian; and numerous other relatives in Denmark and Canada. 

The family wishes to express their deep appreciation to all the staff at the Moose Jaw Special Care Home for the exemplary care Dad received.

A Private Family Service will be held to honour Aage.  As an expression of sympathy, donations in Aage’s name may be made to the Moose Jaw Health Foundation, https://www.mjhf.org, or a charity of one’s choice.
