Another 1,112 new cases of COVID-19 recorded on Thursday, August 26

The new COVID-19 cases just keep rising in Alberta.

Another 1,112 cases have been reported in the past 24 hours.

Hospitalizations rose by 24 to a total of 308 while ICU admissions rose by five to a total of 64.

Of those in the hospital, 246 are unvaccinated while 10 are partially vaccinated and 52 are fully vaccinated.

Four additional deaths have been reported bringing that total to 2,360.

There are 9,066 active cases in the province with a positivity rate of 10.5 per cent.

Cochrane has decreased in active cases to 39 and Rocky View County has increased to 68.

Vaccinations are not rising as quickly as new cases with 77.6 per cent of the population partially vaccinated and 69.2 per cent fully vaccinated.
