Ping pong ball sized hail possible for Rimbey area

At 2:44 PM MDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing strong wind gusts, nickel to ping pong ball size hail and heavy rain.

This severe thunderstorm is located 10 km southwest of Winfield and is moving east at 30 km/h.

In effect for:

• Co. of Wetaskiwin near Alder Flats and Winfield
• Co. of Wetaskiwin near Pigeon Lake
• Ponoka Co. near Rimbey Bluffton and Hoadley

Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches. Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are likely to produce or are producing one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall.
