The Alberta Sports Hall of Fame (ASHF) has appointed new members to the Board of Directors following the Annual General Meeting.

The board is welcoming Kelly Blackshaw, Al Lucas, Kerry Moynihan, and Stephen Ohene-Adjei.

“We are thrilled to welcome Kelly, Al, Kerry, and Stephen to our Board of Directors. Their diverse backgrounds and proven leadership will bring fresh perspectives and invaluable expertise as we continue to advance our mission and serve our community,” said Dale Henwood, board chair.

Blackshaw, who co-founded KidSport Society Alberta and former vice chair of Alberta Sport Connection brings over four decades of leadership and sport development in the province.

She has chaired the Alberta Masters Games and served on the Calgary Olympic Development Association board and has over 40 years of business experience.

As a member of the ASHF, she wishes to preserve and celebrate the accomplishments of Alberta, athletes, builders, and teams.

Lucas is a proud Albertan, who played sports all his life, from hockey, golf, to baseball, and actively supports not-for-profit organizations and events throughout Central Alberta.

Moynihan graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Sports Administration from Laurentian University.

Moynihan has spent over four decades holding senior management positions with sports federations including cycling, canoeing, shooting, gymnastics, alpine skiing, and university sports. He is now on the Board of Directors for Field Hockey Canada.

Ohene-Adjei is an accountant and financial manager with a background in sports coaching.

He served as a wrestling coach at Lethbridge Collegiate Institute from 2012 to 2016, guiding teenagers in the sport's techniques and instilling values of good sportsmanship.

The board thanked retiring members Shirley McClellan, Lisa Miller, Leslie Sproule, and Don Oszli.

“The commitment and expertise of Lisa, Shirley, Don, and Leslie have been a cornerstone of our board's success,” Henwood said. “Their leadership has helped shape the hall’s growth and impact, and their contributions will be remembered with deep appreciation.”
