A former member of the Humboldt Broncos is getting a look from a National Hockey League (NHL) team this week.
Matthew Perkins received an invitation to participate in the Vancouver Canucks which began on Monday and will conclude on Thursday.
Last season, Perkins spent his first season with the University of Minnesota-Duluth, the 20-year-old had 15 points (6G-9A) in 35 games.
During the 2021-22 campaign, the Balgonie product had 59 points (23G-36A) in 57 games with the Broncos. He added four points (1G-3A) in 11 games during the playoffs.
Perkins was one of three former players from the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) to receive an invitation to an NHL development camp. The other two were former Flin Flon Bomber Donovan Houle-Villeneuve (San Jose) and former Kindersley Klipper Michael Neumeier (Seattle).
