Heat records were broken across Central Alberta yesterday (July 10).
Central Alberta communities saw the hottest day to date, as a heat warning remains in effect.
The Lacombe area set a new heat record of 34 degrees Celsius, a jump from the previous 33 C set in 1985.
The Red Deer area saw temperatures of 34.3 C, up from the previous record of 33.9 C set in 1906.
The Rocky Mountain House area reached a new record of 35.2 C, from the previous record of 32.1 C in 1985.
The Sundre area also set a new heat record of 33.9 C, up from the 31 C record set in 2021.
A heat warning remains in effect for Central Alberta.
