Expect road closures for Westerner Days parade

The City of Red Deer is advising motorists of road closures, traffic detours, and transit disruptions for the Westerner Days parade tomorrow (July 17).  

Road closures along the parade route will start at 6 a.m., with barriers and no through traffic beginning at 8:30 a.m.  

Roads will reopen at approximately 1 p.m., and on-street parking will resume.   

Transit disruptions during the parade include:   

• The last departure from Sorensen Station before the parade will be at 8:15 a.m.  

• Busses into downtown during the parade will drop passengers off as close as possible to Sorensen Station  

• The fire departure from Sorensen Station after the parade will be dependent on when the roads reopen
