The City of Lacombe was bustling over the weekend with Lacombe Days celebrations.

The weekend-long festivities brought thousands of residents and visitors to Lacombe, for barbeques, markets, live music, kids’ activities, and much more.

The celebrations began early Friday (July 12) morning with the AFSC Pancake Breakfast, followed by the annual Sunny 94 barbeque.

On Saturday morning, thousands lined downtown Lacombe to watch the parade, collect candy, and see all the decorated vehicles and floats.

After the parade, viewers made their way to the Show and Shine to check out the parking lot full of classic cars.

Children got to use their imagination in the creation station by making bug motels using plastic bottles and paper, woodworking, and painting projects.

The Lacombe Fire Department was offering a community barbecue and an obstacle course for youth to test out their firefighting skills.

Throughout the afternoon there was live music, where residents and visitors were encouraged to bring a chair and enjoy music in the park.

Saturday ended with the Weidner Motors Hometown Concert with Finger Eleven and Prism taking the stage and a firework show at Cranna Lake.

The Sunday festivities kicked off with community breakfasts, a horse pull, a market, and the Old-Fashioned Penny Carnival.
