More temperature records in northern Saskatchewan were broken on Thursday, July 18.

Six new records were established in the communities in Key Lake (32.7), La Ronge (32.6), Meadow Lake (32.6), Waskesiu Lake (32.3) and Uranium City (32).

As of Friday morning, Humboldt remained outside of the heat warning, but that will likely change at some point during the weekend, with temperature expected to climb over 30 degrees.

On Thursday, Humboldt reached a high of 28.9 degrees.

Overnight lows for the next week are expected to be within the 15–17-degree range.

A slow-moving ridge of high pressure is responsible for bringing the extreme heat into Saskatchewan.

At 33.6 degrees Celsius, Leader was the hotspot in Saskatchewan on Thursday.

The hot spot in Canada was Kamloops at 39.3 degrees.
