Town of Blackfalds issues a coyote warning

The Town of Blackfalds, Thursday, August 1st, has issued a coyote warning for hikers and pet owners. This was written on the town's Facebook page today.

"If you're taking your dogs, cats, or family out for a walk today, please be aware that there has been a family of coyotes spotted on the TCT behind Ash Close. There are pups, and the adult coyote has been reported to show signs of aggression to passersby."

"We are contacting wildlife authorities and will update when we know more."

Coyotes are generally not aggressive to humans, but can become dangerous when feeling threatened or when pups are present. Children and pets are usually the target of any altercations with humans.
