‘Lacombe Dome The Movie’ is a gaming tournament that is happening this Saturday and Sunday at The Lacombe Memorial Centre.
The second annual event is expected to draw over 230 participants. Some of the games played include Smash Bros Ultimate, Mario Kart 8, Tekken 8, and Pokemon.
You must pre-register for the event, that will include gamers from all over Alberta, including Calgary, Edmonton, Lethbridge and the local Red Deer group. There are even people coming in from B.C., Saskatchewan, California, Oregon and one player from The Netherlands.
Gaming screens will be set up in the banquet hall for the preliminary rounds, and on the stage a big screen will feature the playoff rounds.
Winners will receive money collected from a prize pool.
Last year’s event drew over 135 gamers.
The public is welcome to watch the event which runs Saturday and Sunday from 12 noon to 9 p.m.
