Just because summer is winding down, that doesn't mean the weather is doing the same.

Thunderstorm activity transpired throughout Saskatchewan on Monday night, with the east central section affected by heavy winds.

Some of the wind damage included a tree falling on a power line near Fishing Lake.

Areas of Wadena and Wynyard were left without power late Monday night. Repairs were paused due to safety concerns in the early hours of Tuesday.

Power was eventually restored near Wynyard on Tuesday morning.

Residents near Wadena that were affected by a damaged line were expected to have their power restored late Tuesday afternoon.

Environment and Climate Change Canada Meteorologist Terri Lang said the area received a significant amount of wind damage from a weather front that rolled in between 9-10 pm on Monday night.

There were reports of hail in different regions of the province on Monday night including the village of Love who received dime sized hail.

Pea sized hail was reported around Moose Jaw, Regina Beach and Southey.

There was also 51 mm of rain over a short amount of time reported near Saskatchewan Beach.

Lang noted there is a possibility we may see additional thunderstorm activity to occur on late Tuesday and throughout the day on Wednesday.
