Alberta reports 1,630 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, October 1

The day after the province accepted help to combat the COVID-19 4th wave, another 1,630 new cases have been reported.

As of October 1, there are 20,215 active cases in Alberta with over 70 per cent of the cases in unvaccinated people.

Hospitalizations dropped by 17 to a total of 1,066 and over 70 per cent of patients are unvaccinated.

ICU admissions remained unchanged at 263 with 90 per cent of patients being unvaccinated or partially vaccinated.

Sadly, there were another 14 deaths reported with the total in the province at 2,731.

To date, 83.8 per cent of Albertans have received one shot of the COVID vaccine and 74.5 per cent of the population are fully vaccinated.

Cochrane now has 121 active cases while Rocky View County is reporting 133.
