Downtown Humboldt will be buzzing with the return of Streetfest.
On Friday and Saturday, Main Street in Humboldt will be closed off between 8th Avenue and 5th Avenue with all kinds of entertainment.
Downtown BID President Alyssa Hergott hopes this weekend establishes the downtown core of Humboldt as an active and vibrant place.
“Hopefully it will encourage people to visit downtown more often, even when there’s not an event happening down there. And we hope that is also brings support to the downtown businesses.”
Hergott wants this weekend’s event to help reestablish it as a great way to end the summer off in Humboldt.
“We’ve been wanting to bring it back and make it a big event.”
There will be a wide assortment of vendors on hand for both days, including food, drink, arts and crafts vendors. Hergott noted there will be around 45 vendors in attendance which is the highest number ever for Streetfest.
Friday’s festivities will be highlighted with a Streetdance featuring Codie Prevost, Darryl Anderson and 40 oz. Philosophy.
On Saturday, the entertainment on the main stage will feature plenty of local performers beginning at 9:00 am.
Kidsfest will be located at Civic Park on Saturday throughout the day, featuring fun stuff for the children throughout the day. Closing activities on Saturday, there will be a Movie at Civic Park. The movie, Migration, will begin at dusk, with free popcorn provided by HSA Chartered Professional Accountants. There will also be a concession.
Hergott noted one of the main goals for the 2024 edition of Streetfest was to offer fun, affordable entertainment for residents of all ages.
She hopes this year’s Streetfest will be a success, so it can return and re-emerge as a staple on the summer schedule for Humboldt for years to come.
