Humboldt Fire and Rescue, local RCMP, Humboldt and District Ambulance Service and the local conservation officer are partnering up for the annual Humboldt Emergency Services Charity Golf Tournament on Thursday, September 5 at the Humboldt Golf Course.

Chief of Protective Services Mike Kwasnica says the proceeds of the tournament will help out some local projects.

“This event is aimed to benefit the community with all of the profits that are raised staying in the community by funding local projects, such as speed signs in school zone and baseball jerseys for a team in need, just to name a few.”

With the addition of the local conservation officer to the organizing group, Kwasnica says that he will bring his boat on site at the golf course on the day of the tournament for another fundraiser.

“We’re asking anybody that is golfing or even within the community that wants to bring down a non-perishable food item, we’re trying to fill up his boat with non-perishable food and all the food is going to be donated to the local food bank.”

The golf tournament is a Texas scramble four-person best ball and has attracted golfers from the region and beyond since its inception. Kwasnica noted there are over 100 golfers who take part in the tournament.

If you are interested in sponsoring the tournament or donating, you can contact the Humboldt Emergency Services at hfd@humboldt.ca

For the golfers, pre-registration is available at the Humboldt RCMP Detachment.
