Apps and software could integrate AI in many industries.
Categories

Artificial Intelligence Saskatchewan or AISK, pronounced ask, is an incorporated not-for-profit organization with the goal of bringing together everyone interested in AI to learn, and to discuss what it means for society, for education and jobs, along with AI’s opportunities and challenges.

Interim Executive Director, Alex Fallon, says a recent event called the Saskatchewan Artificial Intelligence Gathering brought people together from many different career backgrounds and including those who are curious about the technology to those who are experts in the field. For their inaugural event, AI Saskatchewan expected 20 to 30 people but instead, there were over a hundred attendees.

Fallon notes the technology is being considered for businesses big and small, including the agriculture and mining sectors, both of which are a big part of Saskatchewan’s economy. He adds that AI can be used for something as basic as an AI app or software that can create a logo for more complex tasks like spraying crops for weeds or screening for cancer. The next Saskatchewan Artificial Intelligence Gathering will be coming up this fall.
