William “Bill” Alford

On Wednesday, August 28, 2024, surrounded by his family, William “Bill” Alford passed away at the age of 79 years. Bill was born on March 13, 1945, son of the late Robert and Mary Alford in Oakville, Manitoba. He resided in Oakville area for the majority of his life, and enjoyed life with his partner Lynne Clark.

Bill was a dedicated steward of his family’s farm for 33 years. His retirement days were spent tramping through the slough and roaming around his 34-10-4. He proudly lived almost his entire life in the house of his birth. For 26 years, he served with distinction as the Oakville RM Councillor, and it was said that he served with “the whole municipality at heart”. Bill’s favourite season was the hunting season. As busy as life could be, he always found simple pleasure in being at his farm, tending to his horses, and cherishing the company of family and friends.

Bill was predeceased by his brothers Blaine, Jim, and Ken.

He leaves to mourn his passing his partner Lynne, daughter Trina (Chris) Haney, son Bill (Annik) Alford and son Ian (Keri) Alford; grandchildren, Alexa, Paisley, Jessica, Amy, Liberty, Owen, and Hartley; and great grandchildren Kassian and Aurelia. As well as Lynne’s son Kevin, and her grandchildren Ashley and Morgan; and great grandchildren Claira, Cyrus, Clova, and Clark.

Lynne and family are thankful for the dedicated staff on Walker Road, for taking such good care of Bill on this journey.

A Celebration of Bill’s Life will be held at the Oakville Community Centre, 625 - 3rd Avenue, Oakville, MB, at 2:00 pm on Monday, September 2nd, 2024. Private Interment will take place at Oakville Cemetery.
