Cochrane drivers will notice a major change at the temporary roundabout at Hwy. 1A/22 this week.
Starting tomorrow evening, traffic along Hwy. 22 will begin moving to the new pavement north of the roundabout, rejoining the existing pavement near Ranche Road.
The new lanes will be open for commuters on Thursday morning.
A new ramp from westbound Hwy. 1A to northbound Hwy. 22 will open enabling traffic to bypass the temporary roundabout.
The transition will occur in stages overnight, with brief traffic interruptions, and new signs will be installed to guide drivers.
The closed sections of the old pavement will then be removed once the shift is made.
"Please drive carefully and be mindful of the new traffic setup. We appreciate residents’ continued patience as this important project progresses." stated the Town of Cochrane.
The $95 million interchange is expected to be completed next year.
