The Bow Valley Bobcats have notched their first win of the season with a huge 24-3 win over the Chestermere Lakers, Sept. 13.

"It's an all-around team win," says Bobcats head coach Dustin Paul.  "We played well on all three sides of the ball and I'm happy with how we performed on Friday. It was kind of like we had the wake-up call that we needed, and we showed up and played how we know we can play."

He says all four of their starting receivers made big catches and big plays for quarterback Kaden Barnstable when called on.

"Watching them make those big catches and then try to fight for extra yards, that's exactly what we needed."

He says their front seven on defense played lights out.

Saturday afternoon, the Bobcats host the Croxford Cavaliers. Kickoff is 3 p.m. and they'll be food trucks and Bobcats merchandise for sale.

The Bobcats head into the Saturday afternoon matinee with a 2-1 record. The Cavaliers are winless in their first two games after facing the top two teams in the Rocky View league.
