The Broncos finished off the preseason with a weekend split against the Melfort Mustangs. On Friday, the Broncos shutout the Mustangs 6-0 and to wrap up the exhibition schedule, Melfort skated away with a 5-1 victory.
In the Broncos home-ice victory, Jacob Strizzi had a pair of goals, Boris Kofman, Conner Miller, Tyce Penrod, and Tre Fouquette rounded out the scoring.
Maddox Amaral, Oakley McIlwain, and Karson Kerbes chipped in with a pair of assists.
Edouard Gauthier made 26 saves to earn a shutout.
Landen Stromme opened the scoring in Saturday’s rematch.
Melfort answered back with five goals in the final 40 minutes to pick up the win.
Ty Matonovich made 26 saves in the loss.
Humboldt finishes the preseason with a 3-1 record.
The SJHL regular season begins on Friday, while the Broncos start the 2024-25 campaign on Saturday with a home date against the Notre Dame Hounds.
