The Rotary Club of Lacombe is gearing up to host its third annual Taste of Lacombe event, taking place on October 26 at the Lacombe Memorial Centre.

The evening is a fundraiser for the Cranna Lake Project.

Rotary member Ingrid Luymes says Taste of Lacombe is a great way to sample local restaurants and beverage providers.

"It's a really fun night where people get to dress up, if they want to, and basically just come and eat appetizers and drink samples all night long," she remarked.

Luymes says they're hoping to raise $10,000 this year. The total cost of the Cranna Lake Project is estimated at between $575,000 and $625,000. Fundraising is sitting at around $50,000.

"We are raising funds for the Cranna Lake Place. We want to build a building at Cranna Lake that has permanent bathrooms, that has seating so you can be out of the wind. Something that can be used all season long, that's inclusive and accessible."

Taste of Lacombe is an 18+ event and Halloween costumes are being encouraged. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the dance getting underway at 9:30 p.m.

Tickets are $65 but will go up to $75 starting September 21.
